Bulletholes wink at empty streets

A statue crumbles under searing pain

Dust bathes in sun on worn iron veins

Slides long to connect embraced

Warm and welcoming crowd charms with sheepish ignorance

rainbow stretched to reach the stars.

Burned trees whimper in the infrared of the sun

Beers warm off their morning chill

A bathing boat is ambushed by the sun

You hide behind me like a shadow

And I feed off our let-me-down memories

I feel old, unfunny, but a clown

Empty chairs around a lovely beerbarrel

A dog kept out of nurturing the dead, the bones

Unwahsed stray kid daydreaming a better future

I mean that dream! That does exist! Ours only!
